Chip Salmon, General Manager |

Bixler Vineyards is part of Augusta Bixler
Farms which is located on Union Island in the
San Joaquin Delta.
Union
Island lies just southwest of the Lodi
Appellation and due south of the Northern
Delta Region, both renowned wine producing
areas. It is in this Southern Region that the
fertile Delta soils and the cooling coastal
breezes influenced by Mt. Diablo and the San
Francisco Bay form an ideal microclimate for
the production of premium quality wine grapes.
Bixler Vineyards began producing premium wines
with the 2007 vintages of Union Island Red and
Union Island White. General Manager, Chip
Salmon, felt the time was right to not only
produce top quality varietal wine grapes, but to
begin making award winning wines. Well-known and
widely respected winemaker, Heather Pyle, was
brought on board and today, the popular Bixler
blends are making inroads through their success
in numerous wine competitions across the
country. The full bodied, user-friendly wines
are characterized by their versatility and
approachability and truly bring the history and
spirit of August Bixler Farms to life!
Although Bixler Vineyards does not have a
physical winery and tasting room on the island,
we are partners in Woodbridge Uncorked, a
cooperative tasting room located in the heart of
historic downtown
Woodbridge.
The tasting room hosts six
Lodi
area winery partners and is a delightful wine
bar and retail center. Visit Woodbridge Uncorked
on line at
www.woodbridgeuncorked.com or stop by for a
glass of wine at 18911 N. Lower Sacramento Road in
Woodbridge (209) 365-7575. We look forward to
seeing you!
